ASL workshops this month . There are 2 different ASL (American Sign Language) workshops occurring on the same day at different times: 1) 2:30pm-4pm (Workshop: ASL Alphabet)
2) 4:30pm-6pm (Workshop- Artist's/Vendors: learn how to communicate with Deaf customers . WHEN: September 27th (both workshops) . WHERE: Flower Fist Art Market (both workshops) 1819 E St, Sacramento CA 95811 . I'm hosting these workshops because the communication experience matters, ASL can help in emergency/nonverbal situations, I also dream of hosting/coordinating a market where there are Deaf, Hearing and Hard of Hearing vendors/artists and customers co-existing and supporting each other it will take community effort and intention . Disables individual/artist. Im a communications, arts, disability advocate and have experience in being an events/vendor/market and studio coordinator.
Attended community college for 10 years due to language deprivation and barriers. Taught swim lessons to Hearing and deaf community members. And ESL (English as a Second Language) folks as well.
